Latest Exhibition - a place for the mind to rest

My artistic aim is to spark joy and I believe that painting does this.

I started painting in 2021 during a pandemic lockdown which has stopped us being permitted to leave our little valley. I believe that telling stories about the animals I know so well is important. I want to record the gentle beauty of the landscape around me, but in my own way. I’m drawn to bright colours well ordered, strong shapes & spirals in particular. My natural style is quite abstract but I'm aware that I need to prove my credentials as an artist by painting realistically before I can effectively release these ideas. Luckily there are plenty of ways to be creative with a painted reality. I love referencing the work of famous painters in my compositions and I love finding the "easter eggs" which have been left for us in the old greats.

I want to produce work which represents this point in time, having an identifiable historical context.

I have a VR gallery which works best with oculus or similar.

I take commissions, if you’re happy to wait a while. Much of my work is available for loan.

My paintings are produced with the standard limited pallet, using high-tech printable canvas which is a waste product from the events industry.

I recommend framing my canvasses using the eminently flexible T3 system frames.

Emotional intent is both important and always visible if you study a creature/creation hard enough.
